Teaming up with Carolyn Snyder, we conducted two usability studies of Playlinc and a comparison study against Xfire, the industry leader in the server-based gaming space.

Playlinc is a platform that allows gamers to engage in server based, multiplayer and multiplatform gaming, free of charge. The application is fully integrated with AOL’s IM, a popular instant messaging client in the gamer segment. It also provides a built-in, VoIP feature that participants rated very highly as it released them from using multiple applications for gaming and communications.
